ScottO
Hello:
I just made a post last night, and received a reply from someone trying to be helpful (I think) suggesting I use Spysweeper. Other members with legitimate posts are experiencing the same thing (with one member constantly recommending Microsoft Defender). How do I ensure that my post receives attention from an experienced "helper"?

This forum has been a great help in the past, but getting responses from people who know little about problem solving are no help at all, and may prevent one of you from seeing the legitimate posts.

Thanks much.

An excellent question, and something that is an issue at most support forums.

I presume this is the other thread you were referencing: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?s...c=11889&hl=

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [videodrv] C:\WINDOWS\videodrv.exe

That's a worm.

McAfee's Stinger should remove it: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

Hello ScottO,

Thanks for reporting this - I took care of the extraneous posts as it does sometimes hinder efforts to get help with an infection problem. Anytime this happens to you (or anyone here), please feel free to shoot me a private message via the "Messages link" at the top of the forums. Or you can also click on my username and choose the option to send message. That would be to report a problem or perceived problem with the forum (not for support requests) - but I'm happy to help in those situations.

And thanks for responding and helping him out Wincester smile.gif
