Hi,

I reformatted my computer the other day due to problems in the registry and other stuff. One of the reasons for the purchase of AW-Plus was to remove any traces of Ad-ware to see if that would cure the issues I was experiencing.

Unfortunately, I forgot to backup the separate e-mail sent by Lavasoft with my separate registration code for Ad-Aware Plus 2007 before wiping the system.

I've filled out a support form on the main Lavasoft site, like many other people (judging from the topics on this forum) not received a reply.

For verification, my account status is as follows:

Order # 135906835
Purchased July 2nd, 2007
License time 12 months

You ought to be able to find my e-mail address from the order records. Therefore, could someone please forward me a copy of my registration code e-mail so that i can actually register the product I paid for?

I find it hard to believe that the registration code(s) are not saved in the "My Account Status" area along with the subscription length and other information, but that's another issue entirely.

Regards,

GibsonXXI.

Well is anyone from support actually going to answer this? Or are these forums equally as dysfunctional as your e-mail support forms?

Hi GibsonXXI,

This is an Ad-Aware user-community, peer-support forum with assistance offered by volunteers (such as myself).

Given that we have no connection to actual LS staff, you should continue to request assistance through the Support Center. None of us are able to supply you with any of your personal information here, as we have no access to it.

I ackowledge that the delays in getting a response from Support are frustrating - they are overwhelmed at the moment, not least because there are people sending the same request in over and over again (sometimes daily). As you may imagine, this causes a huge backlog, of which many are duplicates.

Spike

GibsonXXI,

Log into the Support center. Choose *Your licenses* section. There is a link in there to use that will email you your serial number. It says "email serial number" - click on that. That is how to get it again if the original was lost.

I'm afraid your mistaken CJ,

There is no such link. Here is what I see from my Support Centre page.

<See Attachment>.

Also, the links to download the files, are generic unregistered versions, and are not supplied with any additional information.

If you had read my post properly Spike, you would of realized i was asking for help from one of the "LS" admins, not someone such as yourself. Hence the phrase;

"Is anyone from SUPPORT going to answer this?"

as a pose to:

"Is ANYONE going to answer this?"

Just because this is a support forum, don't assume everyone posting here is automatically stupid/illiterate/clueless/inept (delete as appropriate).

Thank you for the screen shot. There should be a link there but obviously isn't on yours
This is what I am seeing (tested)

I'm not sure why but I'll see if I can find out.

And no, the support team doesn't monitor these forums - they are answering via email in the Support Center so you should still hear from them as well separate from any postings in these forums.

Hi

I looked you up and sent you the registration code for Ad-Aware and for the Lavasoft Personal Firewall again.
I also sent you your login credentials if necessary.
It will all be in three separate emails.

Hmm, problem. Because I've reformatted my machine, and therefore using the same serial code (with a different hardware fingerprint because of the reformat) means I cannot re-use the registration info. I'd seriously rethink this strategy Lavasoft. Being a small company and wanting to make as much money out of individual sales is one thing, but your support is nowhere near good enough, nor your product good enough, or generating enough cash per sale to warrant such an authentication system. These factors combined will drive away more people than it attracts. I for one am going back to Spybot S&D. I won't be endorsing your product to my customers.

However, thanks to all those who offered their time / assistance.

Regards,

Gib.

Hello GibsonXXI,

If your hardware fingerprint changed due to the reformat of windows then you can send the Support Team your new hardware imprint to get them to send you an unlock key. You can do that via the Support Center.
