Try manually restarting the service by following these steps:
1. go to the start menu, click 'Run...' and type 'services.msc'
2. in the services window, locate 'Ad-Aware 2007 Service', select it and click 'Stop'
3. when the service is stopped, click 'Start'
4. When the service is running, try starting Ad-Aware 2007 again.

I was having the same problem. I did what asked above, it did come back & I am currently running a new scan (though I did a smart scan this time).
It finished showed my items detected like normal. I went to remove them, which seems to be where the problem is & new error pops up 6000. And back to the drawing board since i cant bring the software back up gives me error message 1814 again.

Manual restart through Services.msc did not work. Exactly the same error messages and sequences.
