I am of course not computer savy at all. I do have the older version of Ad-Adware 1.5 and have just been using this all the time for scans. Each time I open , it asks me if I want to down load the NEWER FREE VERSION 1.06.

Ok, so I did this and when I followed the links to download, and I clicked on RUN, my computer asks me if I want to run a SOFTWARE THAT HAS NO VALID DIGITAL SIGNATURE. It also says this:

Probably not. A valid digital signature identifies the publisher of the software and verifies that the software has not been tampered with since it was signed. Without a valid digital signature, you have no way to verify that the software is what it claims to be.

On the Security Warning from where I said RUN, it says PUBLISHER: UNKNOWN PUBLISHER

So, could someone please tell me if I would be safe to run this new version of AD- ADWARE , or just click to say DON'T RUN and JUST CANEL OUT

As long as you are definitely sure that you downloaded Ad-Aware, and it is the Ad-Aware installer that you are trying to run, then it will be fine. I know that the installer doesn't have a digital signature - someone else posted about this. It is just a "Microsoft being over-cautious for its users" message, and nothing to worry about.
