In an other part of the forum I was putting the same question.
Because Support didn't answer most of the time, I try it this way.

Am I the one and only one member having this problem (see attachment Appendix A):
It still not possible to execute “Webupdate” without eliminating temporary my Norton firewall
If not eliminated I receive this error message:

In my opinion the program file in Norton Security is set as it should be to allow all Adaware transactions.
Those three are indicated as” access allowed” in my firewall programs:

Lavasoft Adaware
LavaSoft Updatemanager (= lsupdatemanager.exe)
Adaware2007 ( Ad-Aware2007.exe )

So, I closed my Norton firewall and at two times I got a so called "update".
I can see that the update bar is advancing but I don't know if Adware is really updated...
Why ? Because the "Last Update date" is not changing and stays at 05/07/2007, same time:

Is this also normal ? Or has this date to change if an update was executed ?

I have the impression that the new Ad-2007 is not really working as it should be...I didn't had those troubles with my Adaware SE Plus...

While I'm writing this I tried again to start "Update" (in the meantime Norton firewall is again ON) and now I get again the same error screen but this time with a "message"... and this will not disappear till I close AD-2007...
So...please wait...I'm still waiting, nothing is happening...

Another problem...can support, please, have a look at this or pay me back my subscription.

Thanks.

Hello,

No need to start a new topic with each question. Your existing thread is here:
http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=10615

I merged them all together so that anyone following it can keep up smile.gif

FYI - the support team doesn't monitor these forums. If you are a paid user you need to log in to the Support Center
http://www.lavasoft.com/support/supportcenter/
to correspond directly with them regarding any problems.

I'll close this topic and ask that you keep all replies and questions in the thread already started and linked above. I believe you already had some replies specifying that you need to allow your Norton firewall permissions for Ad-Aware to connect for the webupdate.
