I downloaded Ad-Aware 2007 several weeks ago. I wanted to check for updates and clicked on Web Update Tab on the left side. I then click on the Update button and I get the message: "cannot connect to web server. Server is busy". I think my firewall at work (which cannot be turned off) is blocking it. I went to lavasofts website and downloaded the current updates, but I do not know where to put it. The file that it downloaded it labelled "core" (a zip file). Upon opening it, the file reads: "core.aawdef". When opening the lavasoft folder, I do not see a similar folder to replace. Any suggestions???

This is what worked for me in a similar situation - download the latest Ad-Aware (v7.0.1.5) from here. Uninstall what you have & install the latest in its place.

I also tried manually updating by downloading the def file & tried to replace it but, like you, couldn't find the original file to replace , G

I just installed the personal edition and got an error. The message says to send it to you, but you don't accept Word docs????

Did you uninstall the previous version first?

Why send it to me, & what's this about me not accepting Word docs? G
