This has been an ongoing issue for me. No amount of reg optimization or lavasoft scans or virus scans seem to work. Lavasoft only comes up with mrus and cookies, but nowadays every time I boot my computer up it does two things - the system 32 file folder pops up and the login for colorado sheep pops up. I have googled and scoured for fixes and either this is uncommon or no one is reporting their fix. Rootkit revealer doesn't seem to reveal anything unusual. What info do you need from me? and can you help me please?

Doubleclick the HijackThis_V2.exe to start it.
Click "Do a System Scan and save a logfile"

When your system32 folder pops up after restart, in most cases this is caused by a corrupted startup entry in the registry and I am wondering if it's next entry causing this from your HijackThislog:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yahoo! Pager] -quiet

So check and fix that entry in HIjackThis and doublecheck if it's gone. When it's gone in HijackThis, reboot your computer and let me know if your system32 folder still opens.
If tha entry won't get fixed in HijackThis, let me know.

So it is getting recreated. I am pretty sure that's the cause of your System32-folder opening at reboot though..
Because that entry in Hijackthis should actually be pointing to ypager.exe... or Yahoomessenger.exe

So what I need to know first... because I want to tweak that registry key and adjust it - is the fact if there's a ypager.exe present in the C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger - folder
Because the Yahoo Pager points in some cases to ypager.exe and in other cases to yahoomessenger.exe. So to adjust that key, I need to know to where I should point it to.

So please answer that question first

edit... actually it may be easier to uninstall everything related with Yahoo, then reboot, then fix that remaining entry in Hijackthis: O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yahoo! Pager] -quiet if still present
Then reboot once again and look if it's recreated (it shouldn't this case, since yahoo was uninstalled and nothing should recreate it).
Then test if your system32 folder opens at startup.

Then you can reinstall yahoo again and hopefully it creates the proper startup entry in your registry this time..
