Assistance will be appreciated.... Today, Friday 29 June 2007, I purchased/downloaded AdAware Plus 2007. I installed it and as it started up, error... The aawservice.exe failed to start. After looking into the services running, it is set to automatic, but wasn't running. Failed and still fails, everytime I try to start the service. Attempting to start AdAware Plus 2007 from the shortcut on my desktop and I receive an error - stating the service isn't running, so it is shutting down gracefully. Firewalls are allowing all .exe programs in the AdAware folder to have access to the net. Can't seem to figure this one out. Help please..........

Hi Weedeater, welcome to the Lavasoft Support Forum.

Please Navigate to Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/LavaSoft/Logs for uploading a couple of your logs? You should find a log with a date and time stamp on it which has a double file type "Ad-Aware [date] [time].log.xml" I believe you can copy this log file (Windows should rename it as "Copy of Ad-Aware [date] [time] log.xml". If you rename the file by delting the ".xml" from the file name, it can be uploaded as a *.log file. This may be helpful in trying to understand what occurred when the error occured.

You may receive other replies from volunteer security advisors or LS staff members who will request additional uploads of some of the other logs--if so, please follow their requests precisely, step-by-step.

We look forward to your additional posts--thank you for your time! smile.gif

So... please return my money, since you can not provide timely technical support. Thank you.

Thanks,

Isn't this tech support here ??? From the program to help or the website to help ya get here.... I'm not surprised though, this day and age "Customer Service" is a catch phrase, not a way of doing business.
LS Tobias
Paying customers are entitled to support from the Support Center, which can be accessed from our website at: http://lavasoft.com/support/supportcenter/

These forums are a way for our freeware users to be able to get support from the entire user community, with help from a group of volunteers and few Lavasoft employees.
