I depended heavily on AdAware to tell me when a program, installing itself, tried to update the RUN entry (or entries) in the Registry, usually with the object to have some ancillary support process running in the background all the time. iTunes sharing ("iTunesHelper.exe") is an example of this. I keep my machine carefully controlled and configured, and I depended on AdAware to tell me when an attempt is being made in altering that part of the registry (RUN etc) and permit me to stop it. I'll turn extra processes on and off when I need it, not let it use up virtual memory and machine cycles for no purpose to me at all.

AdAware2007 doesn't pop up an alert and allow me to permit/not-permit changes to RUN in the Registry. I want it to do so.
