Currently using Ad Aware SE (Free) Build 1.06r1

I have had this tool for a few months. Initially it would work find and perform a full system scan and terminate properly.

For some reason, it started to hang up whenever it tries to evaluate this file:

c:\System Volume Information\_restore{92EC12A7.............

I'm guessing this is a windows restore file?

I have removed Ad Aware and re-installed, still no joy.

I can perform a smart system scan, but not a full one.

Any suggestions on how to mitigate this?

Thanks,

But I can only add files to the ignore list from the scanning results page. I can't get to the scanning results page because the tool is locked up on that file. Is there any way to manually edit the ignore file?

I'm a bit concerned that the file may be corrupt anyway. I am considering backing it up to CD and deleting it.

I would still like to know why Ad Aware hangs on this file... without resolving this, I will probably never be a paid customer, even though I like the idea of the tool.
Thanks,
