Hello everybody,

I am a windows admin, on my home machine (XP SP2) I just installed Ad-Aware 2007 free for a try (version 7.0.1.2, last updates applied).

I launched full scan on two runs, both had to be killed within a forever loop (100% cpu).
I started filemon on the second run and while in the loop got this situation :

43 12:40:37 aawservice.exe:4344 IRP_MJ_CREATE S:\Archives\2002\From10GBHD\Offices\ENGLISH\EXCEL97.WIN\SETUP\DISK10\XL97_11.CAB NOT FOUND Options: Open Access: All

Looking at the file structure I got this (excerpt of S:\Archives\2002\From10GBHD\Offices\ENGLISH\EXCEL97.WIN\SETUP\) :

DISK1
CABVIEW.DLL
CABVIEW.INF
EXCEL97.INF
EXTRACT.EXE
SETUP.INI
SETUP.LST
XL97_1.CAB
XLREAD8.TXT

DISK10
XL97_10.CAB

DISK11
XL97_11.CAB

DISK12
XL97_12.CAB

DISK13
XL97_13.CAB

but the search in aawservice.exe is for the disk11 file in the disk10 directory, which gets the NOT FOUND error. I am wonderring if there might be a bug there.

The problem looks like the processing for the error does not catch it, hence a loop.
Though I cant see why the file structure is incorrectly handled, be assured that all files are correct and can be accessed normaly with a standard tool.

Please fill free to ask me for more details if you fill it might help.

regards, lionel
