Dear Support members,
I try to download the Definition file updates from the Lavasoft homepage, since Nov. 9th there is no actual version available.
Today I loaded down version 0149.0093 as ZIP-file, opend it and found the version from 9.11.09????

If I use the Web-Update I get the last version.

Where is the fault, should I use an other download link?

Many thanks in advance!

P.S.: I use the Ad-Aware Free 8.1.1.

Hi,

Version 149.0093 is indeed the latest version: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showforum=51

Maybe the date is simply wrong?

Casey

I've already brought this to Lavasoft's attention. Apparently there's a problem with the script they use to distribute the update file to all their servers. It's worked off and on for the 6-7 months I've been using AE, but this is quite a long stretch. It's not just the date - when core.aawdef is extracted, it's the exact same file size as 0149.0089 from November 9.

Yes, as visitor wrote, the number on the server (http://www.lavasoft.com/mylavasoft/securitycenter/blog) is 0149.0093, but the downloaded and unpacked file "core.aawdef" is from 9.11.09, file size 46.884.824.
The file downloaded via Web-Update is from 13.11.09, file size 48.134.168.

Therefore, I reply my question: Where is the fault, should I use an other download link?

Web Update and download core.zip are the only 2 ways, they don't have a list of mirror downloads. I don't like Web Update since it also updates the program software - AE 8.0.3 has worked problem-free since first installed. It's frustrating that this has been unreliable for 7 months.

You could try here (it's an official mirror): http://download.cnet.com/Ad-Aware-Annivers....html?tag=mncol

Though I'm not sure how often they get updated there either.

Thanks for the link Casey, it's always nice to have an alternate. Unfortunately, for now, same problem - so either they download from the same Lavasoft link, or they're one of the servers affected by the faulty distribution. I'll keep trying CNET any time Lavasoft's link doesn't work.

Dear casey_boy,
no success.

I tried to download the definition file from the URL you posted (http://download.cnet.com/Ad-Aware-Anniversary-Edition-Definition-File/3000-8022_4-10706164.html?tag=mncol) today, there is also the old definition file from 9.11.09, file size 46.884.824.

The problem seems to be solved, at least for the moment.
The file in the the download area is the actual, I hope it will remain so.

Thanks.

Dear Support team,
rejoiced too soon, same as in topic http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=27767

Since 16.11.09 the Definition file updates on both servers are from 16.11., each time with the new version number.

I downloaded the 0149.0098 and it was the actual. biggrin.gif
The difference is the added folder [consolidate_core_output] in the ZIP-file, I hope it will remain so.
