Hello,

I am a Customer Support tech at PopCap Games, Inc. – PopCap Games is the world market leader for premium casual games www.popcap.com.

A customer has reported a malware notification related to PopCap's Internet Explorer browser plug-in (popcaploader_v10.cab) and Firefox plug-in (PopCapPluginInstaller_v2.exe), which are used to load our ActiveX-based Web games.

The files popcaploader_v10.cab (PopCaploader.dll) and PopCapPluginInstaller_v2.exe are not malicious – they are merely used to load our ActiveX-based Web games.
I have attached the file in question as a password protected .ZIP file (password = popcap); please make the necessary adjustments to your products to prevent such false-positives going forward.

The exact report from the customer is as follows:

I was using Adaware free Aniversary edition. That is the program that initially identified the 'trojan'. And, although I tried to remove it with the Adaware, it was not successfully removed with it. I used Advanced systemCare free ver.3.2.0 to ultimately remove the trojan....it also identified it as malware. Both identified it as a 10 in maliciousness.
Adaware gave me this information: "Win32 Trojan Downloader PopCapdownloads malicious software from a remote server without the consent of the user."
Advanced SystemCare gave me this information: "DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8- 92D0-73DB16A1543A popcaploader_v6cabAdware-morehere" and that was the information that enabled me to locate it and delete it from my computer.
And somewhere in allmy tracking of this issue....I remember it being identified with Chuzzle. I have only played Popcap, since my computer was restore to factory settings, ....only played Popcap games on Pogo's site....since they had recently added them. I was not afraid to allow the Active X, since I have played on Popcap....at your site in the past ....and NEVERhad ANY problems with them. I trusted Popcap totally....but not anymore!!!! I am running Windows Vista.
