Hi !

I have an odd update problem with Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition.

First i install the program....then it updates...and asks me to restart! No problem so far.

After reboot i can use the program....except the update function. It keep saying Connection error, check your settings!!
Now...how can i update after the program has been installed, - and one reboot later i cannot??????

Secondly...in the forums they say that you can just update it manually! And they have made a nize link the the file (http://download.lavasoft.com/public/core.zip )
For vista users (thats me) you should put it in the folder (C:\Program Data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\Defs (Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition)
Well....there is no DEF folder in my Ad-Aware folder????? And it won't work just to create one and then put the core file into it.

I have tried to disable the firewall, antivirus...no effect!

So...what to do?? I really like Ad-Aware and would hate to loose it, but the update function MUST WORK!

Any ideas people??

My specs are:
Vista x64 Ultimate
Intel Core7 2.92 GHZ
12 GB RAM

Best regards
Peter

Hi mate!

And tx for correcting me.
The C:\ProgramData\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\core.aawdef was the correct path for manual upd. , I just "in my sleepy way" missed the start!

Anyway another post mentioned that an update via Start=>All programs=>Lavasoft=>Ad-Aware=>Ad-Aware Updates, - would work......and it did!!!!!
Now how to make the update work via "just" Ad-Aware.......! =)

Best Regards
Peter
