I have AdWare SE Personal on my XP computer & I can't uninstall or delete it.

I have downloaded the the new 7.1XXX & it is working.

I go to my start programs & also add & remove (control panel) & when I click on unistall it comes back with:
"Could not open install.Log file"

Can anyone tell me how to get it out? I don't know much about computers so step by step would help alot.

Hello poolgirl biggrin.gif
click ...
my computer - locate your SE folder - run the 'unregaaw.exe (if present) -delete the entire SE folder -
navigate to Documents and Settings/All Users(User name)/Application data/Lavasoft and delete the
entire LS Folder .

Start/Run - type 'cleanmgr' - drive 'C' ok - tag 'temporary files/temporary internet files/ recycle bin and fire it up.

Download Windows Installer CleanUp Utility ( WICU/MS freeware. )
Run WICU and delete all AAW references.

REBOOT

Run a Windows search for all AAW traces and delete them manually (if present - reboot again )

Your system should be clean now.

Create a System-Restore-Point.
Disable your security-software.
Download and install AAW2008.
Enable your Security System.
