hi,

at what exact registry entry does the scan stick?

as a workaround try this setting: ad-aware > settings > scanning > click (cross) deep archive scanning

I tried the work around and it still stalled on the deep scan. Here is an image of where it stalled. And now I see I can upload an image for my message.

Hi all biggrin.gif
pls give this a try...
Run CCleaner ( hit the 'Registry' button on the left hand side ) before you start an AAW-scan.
If it still not works > defragment your registry.
Let me know what happens.
Cheerio

Hi again biggrin.gif

>if you're sure that your registry is clean, uninstall AAW2008 ( use Revo uninstaller ).
>navigate to Documents and Settings/All Users(User)/ Application Data/Lavasoft -- and delete the entire
Ad-Aware folder.
>run the registry-cleaner again
>reboot
>start a fresh dl/install of AAW with DISABLED security software.
Hope this helps

Mod.Edit / question/ Raziel

Hi biggrin.gif
what AAW version is installed , Free , Plus or Pro ?

Sorry about the no details. AAW 2008 Free. It runs fine on my laptop. My desk top is the one I'm having problems. I'm also running at about 15% full on my 80gig HD. I have deleted some programs. Yes I will be building a bigger HD
