QUOTE A newbie here. Was updating Lavasoft free Ad-Aware files. It asked to update to 2008. Said OK. Download OK. Asked to delete old software for me. Said OK. Deletion seemed OK. Said I must Exit and then close running programs before installing. Clicked OK. Closed programs. But now, how do I find appropriate file to install? A Windows search reveals seven files, some of which are backups of the old. There are two possible files: aaw2008_upd.exe and aaw2008_upd.exe.new that might be what should be installed. Which do I choose? How do I proceed with the rest of the installation? Will it bring up a Wizard? Thank you for your expertise and assistance. I stuck it in quotes to stop confusion. Hi,
Please do not PM helpers or staff to request help, always start a new topic here in the forums. With regards to your problem, if you read this post, it wil say that ad-aware should have auto-installed, so in your case I'm guessing it didn't? You can either try installing aaw2008_upd.exe, or downloading the installer from the web, see here and then installing that. hope that helps, Casey This post has been edited by casey_boy: Jul 18 2008, 11:42 PM -------------------- Think your computer is Infected?
