Ok. I posted another time and for a couple of definition updates I was able to manually download, unzip and install new defs but now it is saying corrupt after the May 13th Update.
I understand that the support for SE is now outdated but I am an SE PLUS user on an older operating system (Windows ME) and would like to find out if it is possible for even older systems to continue to use the Ad-Aware 2007 with a license or not. It's looking to me that since Microsoft is no longer supporting US ME and 98 users that Lavasoft won't allow use of the program either. I am planning on keeping the Ad-Aware program I have now until I know for sure it is safe to uninstall it and replace it with Ad-Aware 2007 or 2008 with a license. I have read the forums but would like to keep what I have now until I can replace my OS. I love this program and have been a faithful user and recommend it to everyone I know and will always keep Lavasoft on my machine regardless. Thank you for any help in answering this will be greatly appreciated. This is an awesome program and I understand that my OS is now outdated. Just can't afford to buy new right this moment. |

The short answer is no. Ad-Aware 2007/2008 does not support ME. See here
You can continue to use SE but there are problems at the moment, however, it is recommended that you now use another anti-spyware program as SE is outdated and was not designed for todays malware threats. Have a look in this forum about this issue. Casey -------------------- Think your computer is Infected? Then please perform a scan with Ad-Aware 8.1 - if this does not solve the problem then read this topic and follow the instructions. HJT logs go in the "Hijack This Forum ONLY".
