Request Website to download Free Ad-Aware SE for Windows 98 SE (Old version was probably 1.06r) I am a new lavasoftsupport.com member and this is my first electronic chat, so forgive me if this is not the correct forum. I am not that computer literate, but need some basic help to protect my old computer. I already know that "Lavasoft", as a company, does not support this older version of Ad-Aware that ran smoothly on my old Widows 98 computer. But this website have a variety of Lavasoft users that try to help another, right ? This computer (and version of Ad-Aware) has been adequate to get email and some minor Web surfing. My "new" Vista Ultimate 64-Bit OS computer has had considerable more problems. I thought I corrupted my version of Ad-Aware when I downloaded the latest virus definition update SE1247 and put it in the Lavasoft program file, (as I have done successfully before), BECAUSE IT HUNG UP AT 387 OBJECTS SCANNED In either Smart Scan or Complete Scan. So I got concerned and "Uninstalled" Ad-Aware Person SE Program to prevent infection. This was probably a mistake because I should have researched Lavasoft Support Forum and should have E-mailed or "posted" you first, because of the following: When I went looking for a safe website for a reliable version of Ad-Aware SE to download, I found this Lavasoft support forum that explained that there was a corruption problem with the most recent virus definition updates for Windows 98 SE. Please See: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/Index.php?s...&st=20& and http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/Index.php?s...=18145&st=0 Maybe everyone should know that other Windows 98 SE Users are having these problems ? 1. Now I need to Request a Website to download Free Ad-Aware Personnel SE for Windows 98 SE (I believe that previous Ad-aware was version 1.06r). I could not find this program at lavasoft.com (probably because they do not support it anymore). 2. What can be done to prevent the corruption of the virus definition files so that the Windows 98 SE users can still use Ad-aware Personal SE ? Thank you. G.
