I am running PAID Adaware SE VBuild 1.06R1 . As of 4/16, it stopped downloading updates (last one dated 4/16), but I downloaded one manually tonight (4/30) and it worked.
Are they ending support for this program? Will i have to manually update in the future? thank you /j |

My Adaware has been autoupdating through 4/16/08 and, as I mentioned, a 4/30/08 update was manually available. I am here for information, not sales tricks. /j |

How can a tool be "expired" and supported at the same time? I think you are talking about the free personal edition |

As a paid customer, you are entitled to the upgrade to the newer version (which came out almost a year ago!)
The link Raziel gave you IS for paid users ... it is instructions on how to upgrade your SE Plus or Pro version to the current Ad-Aware 2007. That version will very soon be replaced by Ad-Aware 2008 due to release about May 21. Here is the link again: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=10705 SE has been discontinued as of Dec 31, 2007 -------------------- Please do NOT send Private Messages to Staff or helpers to request assistance! I think you are talking about the free personal edition Weird, ain't it! I have ONE licence for SE PLUS, but "3-user-valid" and paid-for, across 3 'pooters. On two of them, auto-updating is no problem (1 x home-built AMD/ASUS rackmount desktop, 1 x DELL laptop)....all work / auto-update up-to and including the latest release SE1R243 30 April 08. But on the third PC (a laptop - Toshiba), the auto-update stalls at 5% = error! All three computers are pucker paid-for XP Pro SP2, fully updated. And all three run the same firewall (ZAPro), AV (AVG Free), and AS (AdAware SE Plus 1.06r1, Spyware Blaster v4.0, Spybot S&D v1.5.2, WinPatrol v14.0.2007.1.14.0.2007.1). And the latest Java as well! I have access to two ADSL lines coming into the house, both with dynamic IP Addy's, but same ISP = Virgin Media. All 'pooters can talk to eachother / transfer files between eachother if necessary (wireless) - and the troublesome lappy can also talk to the Desktop via LAN hardwire. And yet...and yet...the troublesome lappy simply will not auto-update since 21 April 08. It had no issue with collecting the 16 April update, unlike other posters on this forum. I cannot track-down the problem...but with the manual update option available (see my previous post in a different thread about this), I'm not TOO concerned. However, once a 'pooter fails to pick-up an auto-update, that's it! Updating to the latest defs and then trying an auto doesn't help - neither does using a different IP Addy...as I said, weird! BTW, I've tried AdAware 2007 and it does NOTHING for me. The "same old same old" issues are being posted on that relevant forum. I'm waiting for AAW 2008 to be released, and I'll give that a try - hopefully LS will have taken onboard some of the criticisms from us SE Hardcore Users? Bon chance, mes amies! -------------------- XP Pro SP3; ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite v8.0.059; WinPatrol Plus v15.9.2008.5; SpywareBlaster v4.1;
