Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding licenses since I could not find anything about the licensing model in the FAQ.

We have 300 computers in our organization and only want to use Ad-Aware Pro on a per-instance basis. By that, I mean if a computer becomes infected with spyware, we would install Ad-Aware Pro, clean the spyware and then uninstall it. As such, it would never be installed on more than one computer at a time.

If we were to do this, would we only need 1 license?

Thanks!

I have another question I have regarding licenses:

We purchased an Ad-Aware SE Professional 1-year license for 300 computers that expired in 2006. Are we legally allowed to keep using Ad-Aware SE Professional on those computers even after the expiry?

What I am asking is: Are the licenses strictly for support purposes (e.g. you need to have a current license for free upgrades to newer versions, technical support, etc.) or do we need to keep renewing licenses every year just to continue legally using our current version?

Thanks!

The Ad-Aware SE licenses are just for Support purposes since you do not need to activate the paid features in the Ad-Aware SE version.
Meaning, if the license has expired, no support.

However, the software is outdated and will not receive any software updates, bugfixes etc. anymore.
The definition files will still be updated for the Plus/Pro versions but will be turned off eventually.

No, you would need 300 licenses. Each license is locked to a specific hardware fingerprint. So installed and activated on one computer would stop a user from uninstalling and moving it to a second (or a threehundreth) computer.

On the other hand you would receive a volume discount for a 300 seat license of almost 50%: USD: 20.00 (normal Unit price: USD: 39.95).
