Ad-aware 2007 Plus & Vista 64 Bit ? Options

Hello,
As it looks 64 bits support with Vista Ultimate, not after had thought. Now have I 2 yearly a version of Ad-Aware 2077 pluses in the cabinet to lie. Daschte the new version would run under Vista 64 bits.

The Vista-compliant version of Ad-Aware 2007 for 32-bit is scheduled for around August, with the 64-bit version due for release towards the end of the year.

Then I cannot use it a half year, then have I the money for a half year to the window raus geforfen. And it can use only 1 1/2 year, since I have Vista 64 bits.

It would seem that you guys really dropped the ball on this release. After beta testing it for months, only to find out that it IS NOT Vista compliant TOTALLY floors me. What company in their right mind releases a product that is only half done? Here'a tip/suggestion. Instead of worrying about making money, how about get the program right and release it for all platforms as it was designed. And for those who bought 2007 with the expectations of it working on Vista, should not only be granted a refund; but also a free version of the product when/if it's released in the future. Shame on you guys!!!

The subject of Vista compatability was clearly stated in this Topic posted in the Lavasoft Support Forums > Lavasoft - Announcements > Ad-Aware 2007 > Vista Compatible? section of the forum on Apr 24 2007:

We regularly receive inquiries now about Vista compatibility for the soon-to-be-released Ad-Aware 2007 product, and we’ve even said in previous announcements that the new product would be compatible when released. We know that computer users everywhere have already begun the transition to the new Windows operating system and we have every intention of delivering a new product in 2007 that is Vista compatible.

However, we’ve just recently discovered a technical glitch required for Ad-Aware 2007 to fully operate with Vista, and in order to meet the launch date that we committed for our worldwide customers and to completely comply with Microsoft’s requirements for the Vista program, the product will not be Vista compatible immediately when launched in June. Nevertheless, the new Ad-Aware 2007 product has been built with the capability to immediately distribute version updates and patches (something that was not possible with the SE versions) and all Ad-Aware users with a valid license will immediately receive the Vista compatible update when the issues are resolved this fall.

We know that Vista compatibility is an important issue for many of our customers, and rest assured that it is at the forefront of our development efforts with the Ad-Aware 2007 product.

Also, in the June 2007 Newsletter, Lavasoft News, (Jun 6 2007) the timetable is also clearly stated:

Ad-Aware 2007 Premiere
...While Ad-Aware 2007 will not be Vista compatible right away, a Vista compatible version (32-bit) will be released at the end of August, and all Ad-Aware users with a valid license will immediately receive the Vista compatible version update upon its release.

If you check my avatar, you will see that I am a volunteer here on the furum, not an LS staff member. As such, I have had neither input nor fore-knowledge of any release dates, Vista-compliant or otherwise.

Cannot me there announce, is possibly which inclined. And my English is as badly, possibly as can I that not correctly translate. Well it can only hope soon Vista 64 bits becomes able.

First of all, my anger was not aimed at you. There should be a system in place, when someone goes to purchase the software that they have to select an OS. IF they choose Vista, they are THEN informed that "Lavasoft dropped the ball and doesn't give a crap about Vista users." That should be Verbatim by the way. And the majority of the people do not utilize forums and newsletters. Thanks.
