I have just installed AdAware 2008 7.1.08 on a XP operating machine. Upon trying to update it has so far taken over 10 hours to update and is still going as we speak. I have a slow connection but this is ridiculous. I am able to update in a reasonable amount of time w/ many other applications including Spybot, AVG antivirus, windowsXP etc. so I don't believe it is my system. Can you help? Otherwise if updates take this long the program is useless and I will uninstall.

Thanks

Hi,

there have been quite a lot of updates since v 7.1.0.8 so this is why. Normally, however, the update process will be fairly fast (even on a slow connection). 10 hours is VERY slow i agree, but hopefully it will finish soon.

Let me know how you get on in the future via this topic.

I have tried to download updates multiple times. It appears as though they get about 3/4 through and then it starts over again w/out them being installed. Need some help as this is a useless app if it can't be updated. Thanks

You are not alone. I have been using ad-aware for a long time and this is the first time that I have experienced such a slow download. The same thing is happening to me........it gets part way and then starts over. do I have a solution?..........no.I am waiting for the intelligent computer whizs out there to figure this out.
