mad.gif I purchased Ad-Aware 2007 on January 27, 07. I haven't even received my CD yet. I installed it on my Dell Desktop and discovered it isn't compatible with my Windows Live One Care. I received a pop-up stating incompatibility issues as well as the information that the combination was causing my PC to run badly. I was told to uninstall it immediately. My Live One remained in the Red status until I uninstalled Ad-Aware and rebooted. I have eight computers running Live One security. Why wasn't I told this would be an issue? What am I supposed to do with it? sad.gif I already have the 2007 Advanced Windows Care V2 Pro made by Lavasoft.

Hi Tippy55,

I haven't noticed any other reports of a conflict between these two.

As a licensed user, please contact Support, who will be able to resolve the situation for you.

Regards,

Spike

Same problem here for me. Daughter called from college and said that Windows Live One Care had turned red and said that there was a conflict with Adware 2007. One Care recommended that Adware 2007 be removed and she clicked OK to remove and it came up with the 1720 error message.

She has tried to remove it from Add/Remove programs and from the Adware program itself. No luck.

Doing a web search turned up lots of people with posts regarding this problem with Adware 2007 but no easy solution from Lavasoft has been posted.

Hi PoolBoy,

Please see this AAW 2007 FAQ: How do I resolve the "Error 1722" problem?

As to the "compatibility issue" caused by the 31st Jan One Care update, please see this thread over in the MS forums (there are several actually), but this is the longest one:

OneCare and AdAware should not conflict with each other..... http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare...79&SiteID=2

You can leave Ad-Aware 2007 installed in conjunction with OneCare, but it's icon will remain red in the system tray indicating a problem and advising to remove Ad-Aware as an "Interfering Program"- the suggested work-around for Ad-Aware users with OneCare installed is to just ignore the red warning from OneCare until MS gets this mess straightened out.

For those unhappy with that suggestion, choose which program to uninstall - then post in the MS forums, giving them your own personal opinion about this new "wrinkle"...

Other products being targeted by One Care at this time appear to be: McAfee Site Advisor and AVG Antispyware.

Regards,

Spike

Thanks for this -- it gives this user --with fingers still crossed -- added confidence using both programs together -- even with the red OneCare warning.
