I have Ad-Aware Plus 7.1.0.10, running on Windows XP home. I had no problems loading (after I remembered to stop Ad-Watch!) and no obvious issues in scanning. However, when I start my PC and it boots up the Ad-Aware folder with its 49 subfolders shows on screen and remains there. I can close it so it's not a serious issue but shouldn't be happening. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but without luck. Ideas?

Sandy

Thanks Casey. Support replied:

We have seen this issue before and we are trying to pinpoint the cause of it.
So if you could kindly assist us in figuring out the source of the problem, we would greatly appreciate it.
I would like you to proceed as follows:

Please go to

Go to "Start"
Click on "Run"
Type "Msconfig"
A new widow will open called "System Configuration Utility"
In there choose the tab "Startup"

Uncheck the item "Ad-Watch" from the list and restart your computer.
Now check if the window opens up again or not and get back to me with the results.

This worked for me. A routine window appeared on re-start alerting me to a change in system configuration. I ticked the box to ensure it didn't keep re-appearing.
