How do I uninstall the Lavasoft Toolbar?  I keep getting virus warnings about the toolbar.

I looked in the uninstall programs part of the control panel but could not find it.

Hi Crabby,

Please, see if http://www.lavasofts...-search-engine/ helps you. If you still has any issues after that, please report how you see it, e.g. in which browser, start page, search engine.

I have a University installed anti-virus program called Trend Micro.  On a regular basis, I get a pop-up box with the following warning (and the current date)

http://toolbar.lavas...703230327-l.zip   -  dangerous.

I never use that toolbar, nor can I find it when I right-click tools which gives me a listing of current toolbars, enabled and not enabled.

I also can not find it in my program list from the Control Panel.

The only programs that I recognize from Lavasoft on that list is Ad-Aware Antivirus and Ad-Aware Security Add-on.

Could the toolbar be called the Ad-Aware Security Add-on?

The Trend Micro warning pops up almost every time I change a page on my IE browser.

I would like to remove the toolbar. The search-engine/ home page was not the correct one for this problem.

Any suggestions?

It isn't the toolbar itself that Trend Micro finds malicious, it's the list of malicious web sites that Ad-Aware is going to block. I guess that Trend Micro checks that file when the toolbar wants to fetch it.

Usually it's possible to configure an antivirus program that a certain file should be ignored. If you can do that in Trend Micro, that's a possibility to get rid of the warnings.

"Ad-Aware Security Add-on" is the name of the current toolbar.

Hi poormatthew,

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you mean. Does iSafe program complain on Ad-Aware toolbar or does Ad-Aware complain on iSafe?

Some facts about iSafe: https://www.mywot.co...ecurity-scanner

Not a recommended product.

It's iSafe warning notification for Lavasoft toolbar.

i do not have redirect issues except for lavasoft redirect so far  (already settled)

Most people around me installed iSafe and none of them refer it as a rogue software.

But i will be careful with these redirect problems, thanks anyway :D

Is it possible for you to configure iSafe to ignore Ad-Aware files?

But of course you can uninstall Ad-Aware Security Add-on if you prefer that.
