Scan Button greyed out

Went to do a full scan, and noticed that the option was greyed out, as it was on the other scan options. Noticed that my action centre says that the programme needs updating, which I did, to no effect. Reinstalled the programme, same issue. Looked at some of the other posts to see if theres any other suggestions, not seen any that seem to apply. Currently using win7, no proxy server, no other antivirus etc. Not sure what else to try.

Which threat definition version and update date do you have on the Update Definitions tab in Ad-Aware?

Do you get any message when you click on Check for updates and what happens?

Do you have 32 or 64 bits Windows 7?
