Hello, I was hoping someone can help me.

I've been installing Adaware pro security 10.2.21.3698 across a range of Win7 PCs for work and they are all fine, except for one which refuses to download virus definitions. I can't find any differences on it, it's an administrator account, no firewalls, av or anything - all other installing is fine, all net access is fine. I've uninstalled / reinstalled Adaware twice, no difference.

Not sure what to try now. It's 1 of 15 installations, and the only one that wont work!

thanks

Hi kevinauld,

Since you have bought the product, you can use the Lavasoft support instead of this forum with volunteers: http://lavasoft.com/...contact_support

Have you tried to install Ad-Aware again?
Are you sure that everything of the previous antivirus program has been deleted?
Is the computer accessing internet through a proxy server?

Yes, if they'd let me log in, I'd be happy to use them. I'm still trying to get a new password. Anyway.

Yes (twice), yes (was MS Security essentials) and no, to your questions.

Have you checked the spam/junk folder? It is rather common that those emails end up there.

Another user reported an update problem at the same time as you, so I have asked my contact person at Lavasoft if there has been a problem with the update server today.

Please, check that the Ad-Aware services are running (I guess you know how to do that).

I have, yes, - nothing there (and other LS mail goes to my inbox anyway). Services are running, yes.

I checked the other clients, they all last updated at 9:00am today (uk time I assume)

I read through the other posters thread. I did notice that during the install, the definitions didn't download - this was where I wandered off on the other installations to get a drink!

On another note, I just checked the client in question, it's been installed for just over three hours, with a check for definitions every hour.

I got an answer from Lavasoft and there are some problems with definitions server today. They are working on it. Unfortunately not much else to do than wait. I can see that my Ad-Aware hasn't updated the latest 7 hours and that isn't normal.
