So this happened right around the release of adaware 10, had 9 running for ages, loved it, then 10 came out so the client updated and what a mess, firefox got all messed up and wouldnt run any java or anything, you couldnt even view or read comments on websites. But the worst thing that happened is my system will no longer allow me to view memory cards through my printer. The drive icon doesnt even appear in my computer anymore, Ive tried re-installing the printer driver, Ive even gotten a new printer and still I cannot view the memory card plugged into the printer.

I have uninstalled adaware completely but that didnt solve anything at all, had to re-install firefox to get it working right but its still not 100%, I would really like to resolve this issue with my memory cards though, I dont have a card reader in my system and rely on my printer to browse them.

Hi Us3r,

I don't understand how Ad-Aware could affect your printer's ability to read memory cards. Have you tried with many memory cards, including new ones?

We can check if there is something of Ad-Aware still running in the computer if you want to. Save DDS to your desktop: http://download.blee...om/sUBs/dds.scr

Double-click on the DDS tool to run it.

When finished, DDS will open two (2) logs:
1. DDS.txt
2. Attach.txt

Save them to your desktop and paste their content into your answer.

All the new half baked and totaly uneccissary 'features" like the network saftey one, Ive tried maping the network drive for the printer every way you can do it and it just tells me it cannot find the network location.

Such features as, for example, "Safe Networking" are necessary to get high protection, and are common in other antivirus programs too.

Do you still have any Ad-Aware drivers installed for the network card? See http://www.lavasofts...post__p__135179

They are far from nessicary, unless you dont know who is on your network then there is no need for this, Im not going to hack myself, I dont think my printer is gonna hack me either. WPA-2 PSK with a large password is more then enough to keep people out, anyone with the ability to break that is going to be hacking the pentagon not your lousy home network. These features only exist to make the product look more apealing to people who dont know any better. and now my stem is all messed up because the program had to go mess with what it shouldnt have.

You're asking for help and ignoring the advice you're being given. Whatever is done, is done. You've been given a couple of options to try.
Have you done so? Has it helped or not? If you're having this problem, others might be as well. We all learn together.

Network in "Safe Networking" isn't referring to only local area networks (LAN) but also to wide area networks (WAN) as the internet connection. "Safe Networking" is a host-based intrusion prevention system (HIPS).
