Hi,

I'm contacting you on behalf of Findamo (http://www.findamo.com)

We are a growing search-engine, designed for speed and localization.

For some reason, sometime in the last few days, your AdAware product began black-listing our entire domain.

We don't have any software downloads from findamo.com and are definitely not engaged in any form of distributing viruses or malware. A lot of blood, sweat and tears goes into the development of Findamo.

Would kindly appreciate it if you can update your database so that our site is not black-listed.

Thank you for the rapid response - much appreciated!

Findamo is a search-engine. Nothing more, nothing less.

We are growing rapidly and have a lot of partners distributing our search engine. The process is similar to how these days, whenever you purchase an HP printer, during the installation process, users are promoted with the option to "Install Ask toolbar". Those who choose to install it, get the Ask toolbar and homepage.

Some of our partners choose to distribute Findamo with their software.

In the same manner that you would not black-list ask.com, google.com and bing.com, when software vendors decide to bundle their toolbars with the installed software as an opt-in offer, it makes no sense to black-list Findamo.

Findamo itself is nothing more than a search engine.

Hi,

If findamo.com only is a search engine, why do I find such things as email address, news letter, shopping cart in the privacy policy? Why does the privacy policy have the text "We do not use cookies on this site." at the same time as I can see a cookie called "channel" from findamo.com in my browser?

Thank you for pointing my attention to this line!

Looking at the privacy policy I see we actually do say "The terms of the site’s Privacy Policy and use of cookies are hereby incorporated in and made an integral part of, these Terms of Use. Users/members agree to the use of personal information and cookies by the site or third parties in accordance with the terms of and for the purposes set forth in, the site’s Privacy Policy and terms for use of cookies" but that line about we do not use cookies shouldn't be there.

I just had our engineers update the page and clean it up, removing all the default stuff TrustE had us put in which is not relevant for Findamo.

It's all part of the pains of growing too quickly :-)

Onwards and upwards from here.
