Uninstalled Ad-Aware tries to reinstall itself

I did a thorough uninstall using Revo Uninstaller.
I also followed through with a complete search of my system (Advanced Search > Include Non-Indexed, Hidden, and System Files) to remove any residual fragments. I repeated the search using the terms, “ad-aware,” “adaware,” & “lavasoft.”
Now, however, each time I right-click on a file either within Windows Explorer or on my Desktop, a pop-up appears saying, “Installing Ad-Aware.” I am able to cancel it… but I want it to stop!
What Lavasoft file(s) have I missed, & how can I locate & remove it/them?

I used to start menu's uninstall Ad-aware, and it uninstalled it completely without any issues. I didn't use the control panel's add/remove programs. Again, I can't say this will fix the problem, but it surely can't make it worse.

Please, stay in your own topic, joeblow. It is very difficult to help you if you ask the same question in two different topics.I'm having similar problems. I wasn't able to uninstall the program from my "add delete program" function even though the program is listed there. I keep getting the same message. Please let me know how you resolve this.

I think it is something left in the registry, in the part handling right-click (context) menus. Maybe you can use a tool to check if there is anything related to Ad-Aware in that menu. I found these two at Softpedia:I uninstalled Ad-Aware v10.1 completely a few days ago… but it still keeps trying to reinstall itself automatically. What hidden files are still on my computer that keep connecting to Ad-Aware???

You can still use Ad-Aware 9.6 if you prefer that. You can download it from FileHippo: http://www.filehippo...ad-aware/10910/
