After the requested reboot following the 10 upgrade [from a link off the Lavasoft email I received], my PC reboots itself after showing the Login screen. This cycle occured for over 1/2 hour until I was able to use Last Known Good to get me out of this cycle...

This was extremely frustrating ...This program is supposed to protect my computer - not exclude me from using it.

I am concerned [1] I am not getting the full advantage of this new version [2] I am afraid to switch off my PC as it might not boot again ...

I am using an HP desktop, lots of memory, and runnnig xp.

The most common reason for such problems is that another antivirus program is installed (including Ad-Aware prior to 9.6), or not completely uninstalled, when installing Ad-Aware 10. Is this true for you?

Ad-Aware 10 is a full-featured antivirus program and is not supposed to be used together with another antivirus program. You can continue to use Ad-Aware 9.6 if you want to continue to use another antivirus program.

Thanks for the advice - I removed MS Essentials as well as Spybot. Now the reboot is fine.

This only started with this new release ... please make it more obvious so others will not have similar issues.

I think you can run Spybot S&D at the same time as Ad-Aware 10 since Spybot S&D is written to be used together with antivirusprograms.

Lavasoft is working with including checks for more antivirus programs during installation. At the moment only a limited amount of antivirus programs are detected.
