I have problems installing Ad-Aware Free Antivirus, nothing happens after I restart my computer, it only changes my home page and offers me to use Blekko as a search engine, nothing else. There is no folder, no shortcuts, nothing...
I'm using W7 with full admin rights.
Please assist.

Hi Duncano,
Is it 32 or 64 bits Windows?
Is it Ad-Aware version 10?
Do you have other security programs installed, as antivirus, advanced firewall, register protection?
Do you think that the installation proceeded as it should, you got the message "Installation successful" and that the computer needed to restart?

Hi CeciliaB,
It is Windows 64.
It is the one available at http://lavasoft.com/..._aware_free.php
I only have Ad-Aware Internet Security Free installed.
Yes, it seems like the installation is fine, no error messages, and I do get the successful installation message.

It is fine now, I uninstalled Ad-Aware Internet Security Free and it worked. I don't know whether it is intended on your behalf, but I suggest you to look into it. Thank you!
One last question... I have Pro version for 30 days now and what happens when it expires and what feautures do I loose?

Hi Duncano,
I am glad you found the solution
It is Ad-Aware 10 that is downloaded from Lavasoft now.
Ad-Aware 10 should automatically uninstall old versions of Ad-Aware, at least version 9.5 and 9.6 (I am not sure with older versions). Do you know which version you had or when you installed/updated the program?
When the trial expires, it will become Ad-Aware Free Antivirus+ and the features that disappears are those that are listed under "Advanced Protection" on the main screen. You can find more information about the differences on http://www.lavasoft...._aware_free.php and http://www.lavasoft....ft/company/blog (entries dated April 3rd).
Edit:
Correction, only 9.6 is uninstalled during installation of Ad-Aware 10.

Duncano,
Ad-aware 10 is more feature rich than ad-aware 9.6
now free version has
game mode
download guard
Advance rootkit protection
HIps
web protection.
Feature you will miss after trial period expire in pro are
firewall
