I am hoping you can help me. While trying to download and install our toolbar for Internet Explorer from shopathome.com/freetoolbar.apsx (requires free user account and acceptance of Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy) we saw the installer/site being blocked by Ad-Aware.
ShopAtHome.com is a free membership online shopping portal that offers coupons, discounts, and cash-back incentives to more than 12 million unique site visitors each month. We are associated with more than 3,000 merchants. In order for our customers to take advantage of printing grocery and store coupons, Daily Deal Alerts, and other great features, we offer an opt-in toolbar to our registered members. This toolbar does not retain any personal data from the user. It will, however, display alerts and deals based on the user’s session browsing, yet no information is retained. While the ShopAtHome.com toolbar places a cookie on the users machine, deleting this cookie has no negative impact on the users experience, other than requiring them to log on to the ShopAtHome.com site each time they visit.
We currently work with over 20 security software companies to ensure the safety of our toolbar. Additionally, our toolbar can only be downloaded from our site, ensuring that we control its distribution and safety.
Please let me know what information you will need from ShopAtHome.com to allow your customers to feel safe about installing (and uninstalling) the ShopAtHome.com toolbar.
Attached you will find the toolbar installation file (ShopAtHome_Toolbar.zip\Password: infected) and a screeshot of the detection as I saw it. Please let me know if there is anything else you will need to assist your investigation.
I look forward to hearing back from you. My contact information is below.
