Hi,

I haven't seen any word on this topic since July '11. But I am concerned that my protection is not properly established.

I have installed v9.6 (free edition) which appears to be running correctly, scans and updates as expected, still the Windows 7 Action Center shows a red flag and complains: "Lavasoft Ad-watch Live! Anti-Virus reports that it is turned off."

The Ad-Aware shield is displayed in the system tray (right next to the Action Center flag with its little red circle-'x') and Ad-Aware shows no indication of a problem. The Ad-Aware Free dialog box shows "Ad Watch Live! Real-time protection:on" (also "Web Update Status:ok", and "Scan system status: ok"). The Ad Watch Live! sub-dialog shows "Processes: on", "Files: off", "Registry: off" and "Network: off"; which I assume is expected for the Free edition.

I have no other anti-virus software loaded, other than Windows Defender in its default mode, scanning once a day.

Can anyone tell me why Windows 7 does not seem to be communicating with Ad-Aware? Please let me know if I am properly installed, or if I need to take any action to protect my system.

Thanks!

Hi LDK,

Please, see if the advice in the last post of http://community.nor...ht/true#M175007 helps you.

I also have the same problem with "Lavasoft Ad-watch Live! Anti-Virus reports that it is turned off." but I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit using the Free Version downloaded 12/04/12.

When I select turn on, nothing happens.

My wife is not having the problem and has the same Compaq/HP laptop that I do and is also running the same version of Windows.

Thanks in advance for help.

Hi tForbes,

If you mean that Ad-Aware reports that everything is running and only Windows 7 complains, it is probably a Windows problem. See the link in my previous post.
