I'm using Windows XP SP 2, & just updated to Ad-Aware 9.6.0 (Free). My OS in in English.

In the license agreement, some of the letters were replaced with kanji, as you can see in the attached file. I'm not getting random kanji in the program, though.

Hi Monochrome,

That is certainly not normal.

Please, right-click the installation file Ad-Aware96Install.msi and select Properties. Write here the exact size in bytes. Select the 'Digital signatures' tab and write here the time stamp. Just to be sure that you have the latest installation file.

Monochrome,

My contact person at Lavasoft has now left the office for the weekend so I cannot ask him until Monday, but it is not the same as the file I downloaded yesterday. I downloaded from http://www.chip.de/d...e_13000824.html It is in German but I clicked the blue button with the text "Zum Download" and on next page "Download-Server CHIP Online".
Mine is 12,038,144 bytes and stamped 28 October.

Alright. Should I uninstall the version I have now?

Since you don't have any issues with the program, I would wait until Monday and see what Lavasoft says.

Your installation file is the latest. The site I used had an earlier version.

Please, tell us your regional settings in Windows.
Control Panel - Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options (if visible) - Regional and Language Options
Lavasoft is interested in all settings on these tabs since that may influence the installation program and when they know your settings they will be able to test an installation with the same settings.

Thanks for the information. I have sent it to my contact person at Lavasoft and they will try to get the same error followed by finding a solution. But since it not a very serious problem it might take some time until they have the time to do it.
