I downloaded 9.5, ran the install, old version was removed, rebooted when prompted. When I started the program it still said a newer version was available, so I checked to see what version I had and it still read 9.07.
I thought that was strange and frankly, did not feel like going through the process again so I have ignored it since but does anyone know if this is what they fixed when they came out with 9.5.1.
I run Win XP Pro service pack 3

Some persons have reported the same thing and it has been solved by first uninstalling the current version manually and then install 9.5.

oh wow, I wondered what happened as I never received an email informing me of this. Anyway, I haven't had Ad-Aware in.stalled since December of 2011 and I can't recall what happened but it had something to do with Avira and Ad aware stopped working. I only want a spyware program and not a security suite. If I install the latest version I will have to disable my avira program then install ad aware. Too much of a hassle. I wish I could remember what happened exactly.

It is still possible to use Ad-Aware 9.6 if you prefer that.
