Deleting Lavasoft 2007 files after un-installing

The aawservice.exe.exe file seems to be executing on its own and continues to give me an "Interactive services dialog detection" window with an Unhandled Exception message:
It says "The program may need information or permission to complete a task"
It also says, "This problem happens because of partial incompatibility with Windows."
See attached snipped files...
I was however able to install the latest free Ad-Aware AE program and it is now doing a scan. I want to get rid of the "Interactive Services Dialog Detection" problem, because it appears to be giving me blue screens and browser meltdowns.
Any suggestions?

1. Let's delete the Ad-Aware service by copying the lines into the command prompt (start > tyep cmd > right click > run as administrator) :
sc stop "Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service" sc delete "Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service"
try again. If this doesn't work:
2. Boot into safe mode (by tapping F8 at boot up and selecting Safe Mode from the menu) and then delete the folder.

Casey,
I think I did what you suggested. See attached snipped window. But then when I went to try to delete the Lavasoft 2007 subdirectories, it still says that I don't have permissions to delete the files... I'll try to Boot in safe mode and see if that works.
Thx.,

Did booting into safe mode allow you to delete the remaining files?

Yep that's good - the service has been deleted.
Did booting into safe mode allow you to delete the remaining files?

No, booting into safe mode did not allow me to delete the remaining 2007 files. It still says I don't have the permissions. No matter what I do under properties to give myself full permissions, nothing works.
Also, everytime I run an Ad-Aware Full System scan using the latest free Ad-Aware AD software, my system crashes before the scan is completed. I ran an Ad-aware Quick Scan successfully and found nothing.
Also, I still have the Interactive services note showing me that C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007\aawservice.exe.exe is still trying to execute and is requiring permission to complete the task.

Let's remove that using Revo uninstaller (the free version is fine) see if that will delete the files.

OK. So you have Ad-Aware AE installed as well?
Let's remove that using Revo uninstaller (the free version is fine) see if that will delete the files.

Casey,
I installed Revo Uninstaller and it removed the latest free version of Ad-Aware and rebooted. Then I went to the Ad-Aware 2007 directory and tried to delete it again. No luck. Still says I don't have the right permissions. Using Explorer, I right click on the c:\program files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007 directory and click on Properties, Security and find that the only group that doesn't have full control is the Creator Owner user name. The System, Synthia, Administrator, Users, TrustedInstaller user names all have check marks under Full Control and all the other rights. No matter what I try with the Creator Owner user name, is won't save my changes. However, I believe I am logged in under Synthia, so I should hava all the permissions I need. When I try to delete, the computer comes back saying I don't have permission to delete the files.
Also, after it rebooted after the Revo uninstaller ran, I came back her to reply to you and I ended up getting another blue screen. I've had about 5 today while I've been trying to work through this problem. I'm sure I have a virus that is causing this blue screen, but nothing comes up under Windows Defender, Symantic, Spybot and Ad-Aware AE.

What does the blue screen say?
Just before we go down the malware route; I'd like you to test your disk drive for errors (tutorial here). Sometimes disk drive errors can cause BSODs and also trouble with file/folder manipulation.

Hmm... this is starting to look a bit suspicious!

Casey,
I ran Check Disk three times. The first one failed right away. The second one ran through to completion. Then I ran Defragment and it appeared to lock up. I let it run over night and it never finished. I closed it out and ran Check Disk again. Then I tried Defragment again and it seemed to lock up again. Vista doesn't show the progress, so I don't know how far it got. Then I tried to delete the Lavasoft files again and once again, it says I don't have permissions.
Thx.,

We might be able to narrow this problem down.

Casey,
I just got another blue screen as I started to type this message to you. Blue screens are happening on a regular basis now. They disappear too fast to write everything down, but I believe the line that is giving me information reads something like:
00000x124.... 0x8529Ib 0x85.. it has a list of numbers, but I haven't been able to write them down yet.
I've gone to the Event Viewer in Windows, but I don't understand the error messages.
I thought about running System Restore and going back to when I ran Survice Pack 2 and upgraded Windows Explorer.
I'm also thinking about installing Mozilla (sp) and stop using Explorer. I'm running Windows Defender full scan right now and as soon as it is done, I may run System Restore and start this process over with trying to remove Ad-Aware 2007.

Could you post the contents of the error message from event viewer?

Hi,
Could you post the contents of the error message from event viewer?
Casey
You realize, there are 100's of events in the viewer. I don't know which ones may be relavent, but I'll take a look.
