Hi all,
i read a post on this forum regarding a solution to windows logging you off immediately after logging om problem. The solution post by member shaggy98 is: http://www.lavasofts...a...t&pid=41179
I was wondering if anyone could clarify lines 4e and 5a?
It appears that what shaggy98 infers on line 4e is:
- select the "software.old" file from within the "Load hive" window and click on the open button, then when the "key name" window pops up, enter "test" in order to load the "software.old" hive as "test".
Then it appears that what shaggy98 infers on line 5a is:
- to follow the registry path, "test\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon", as indicated.
The problem is that when i followed my assumptions above, there was no path that looked like "test\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon". So i'm thinking that my assumption is wrong?
Thanks in advance.
question about posted solution to "windows keeps logging me off..." post.

shaggy98 said he tweaked the original instructions, so 5a differs from the original. Below that, he states:
Note: if anything differs repeat step 5 with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon
This is the registy pathway specified in the original post - did you look for that instead?

I think so, it's just a step to rename the registry key.
