When attempting to install ad-aware I am getting a message saying

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime 9.0 service pack 1 could not be installed. Please use windows update to manually install this on your system.

When I attempt to download this from microsoft I get the message that it has encountered a problem during set up.

Does anyone know how I can fix this or work around it ??

Thanks in advance

Try this:

I would suggest uninstalling Ad-Aware with Revo. Then install the latest C++ runtime from here, when this is successfully installed, try reinstalling Ad-Aware.
