I've split your post from the other topic, since it was not relevant. I'm not sure exactly what you have tried, so I would suggest this:
For a 32bit operating system.
Go to, (the default installed location)
C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\drivers\32
Right click on the 'lbd.inf' file and choose install, reboot the computer.
For a 64bit operating system.
Go to, (the default installed location)
C:\Program Files(x86)\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\drivers\64
Right click on the 'lbd.inf' file and choose install, reboot the computer.

Same with me - after reinstall no adwatch. Tried the fix and it worked. Thanks...
...BUT I have now lost the icon in the taskbar: it won't activate even when I open AAW manually.
Any ideas how to fix this one?? Thanks

sometimes this does happen - not sure why - but usually is ok after a computer restart. So next time you restart just check to see if it's back. If not, then check to see if AAWTray is running in Task Manager. If not, one way around it is to add a shortcut to AAWTray in your startup folder.

Thanks for speedy answer - but no joy after a restart. AAWtray is definitely running. So adding the shortcut is the only fix??@rbruce1314,
