Hi,

Just ran a scan with updated files with Ad-Aware SE yesterday. Now I am having webmail issues with my earthlink and vt.edu accounts. I can log in fine, but when I try to open a message, it takes me back to the login page.

Help! What was deactivated? B)

Thanks!

Sue

suepuff,
have you tried to restore the items that you quarantined but before you do go and click on the restore
make sure that you have un-ticked (un-checked) the "Delete quarantined objects after removing" in your settings of Ad-aware.
to do this open your Ad-aware and click on the settings tab (The Gear icon),
then click on the "Tweak" button,
then click on "Cleaning Engine"
now un-Tick ( Un-Check) "Delete quarantined objects after removing"
Then click on the proceed button.

Restore quarantined objects
1. Open the quarantine list by clicking on the quarantine button or the "Open quarantine list" link on the Status screen
2. Select the quarantine file you want to restore
3. Right click and select "Restore selected" in the context menu or use the "Restore" button

then once you have done that resote the items you want and rescan making sure that you have the latest Definition file
SE1R104 21.04.2006 scan doing a "Full Scan" and then post your logfile here by using the Add-Reply Feature .

Do you have windows XP as XP has the capability called System Restore. My advice is to use system restore to go back to your last good point ie: before your removed the items.
make sure that any live programs are updated IE: Anti-Virus etc.
Then after you have made sure your webmail issues with earthlink and vt.edu accounts are ok.
open your Ad-aware use the WebUpDate feature to make sure you have the latest Definition file
SE1R104 21.04.2006 and then scan doing a "Full Scan" and then post your logfile here by using the Add-Reply Feature .
As Logs are stored in :
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-aware\Logs\.
An easy way to get there is to
click Start,
click Run
And type in and press ENTER: %appdata%
then click Lavasoft
then Ad-Aware
and then Logs.
scroll down to find the latest one that you have
(by date & time)
and open it right Click select all
copy and then paste the contents of it here.
(Make sure that all of your Logfile has been posted, sometimes it will require two post's to get it all)
I recommend that you use the WebUpDate just before you scan that way you will always be up to date.

(note The Application Data is a hidden folder, so you will need to show hidden files and folders
and for Windows 98/ME users your logs are stored in
C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\ ) by default

Hello. Is this email browser based only? Did it require any special files to be installed to get it to work?

Hmm... Strange...

I wonder if you accidently removed some cookies with Ad-Aware that is required by your webmail and now you have set security settings in your web browser to not accept cookies... Maybe that could have the effect that you are getting bounced by your webmail?!

I agree... this is very likely deleted cookies that cannot be recreated due to cookie blocking
