I am receiving the following error when installing Ad-Aware Free 2008.

Exception E-Access Violation in Module AdAware.exe at 001DCCA4.
Access Violation at Address 005DCCA4 in Module Ad-Aware.exe. Read of address 000418.

I have updated the Windows Installer then reinstalled the newest version of Ad-Aware and this error message persists. Any help appreciated!

I am using Windows XP.

Thanks for posting. I still have not received any answers on this; if you come across any solutions please post them here. I am using Ad-Aware Free 2008. Just retried installing and received the same error. Thanks for any help any one can offer on this!

regards, Peter.

I do NOT use Lavasoft Ad-Aware and do NOT work for Lavasoft. I just monitor the Forum from time to time.

IF IT AIN'T BROKE - DON'T FIX IT!!!

Thank you for your suggestion! Unfortunately turning off the firewall did not correct things. If anyone else has been able to solve this please post!

The error in question is an Exception E-Access Violation

Thanks!

Thanks! I actually completely uninstalled Spybot and still get the error. Thanks for the suggestion, though. Any others are welcome!
