I'm trying to install McAfee Virus Scan on my computer but it wont let me because I have AD Aware SE Personal 1.06r1 and it prompted me to remove it first.
Well, I followed the removal directions and tried to install McAfee again and again the same problem.
There are obviously some parts of the program left over on the hard drive but I'm not able to find them and remove them.
Anyone has any idea how to completely remove the software? McAfee will not finish installing because it keeps finding AD Aware. I'm attaching the dialog I see when I try to install McAfee Virus Scan. Operating system is XP pro.

Try this:
--download and install Windows Install Clean Up ( WICU from MS )
--run Wicu and delete all SE references .
--Start/Run > run > type Cleanmgr > enter > drive 'C' > ok < mark Temp.Files / Temp.Internet Files / Recycle Bin > run
--reboot
--instead of Cleanmgr you can run CCleaner ( Piriform ) also ( you have to be careful with this tool ).
Cheerio
Raziel ;)
