Hi

I just tried to download AAW207(1).EXE from Lavsoft and AVG would not let it download to my desktop stating it contained the folowing Trojan Horse: Trojan Horse Downloader Generic5.PIO

Has anyone else reprted the same problem? Is adaware infected with a trojan as AVG says... or is it safe?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Scotty-Boy

No, our installer is not infected.

This has been confirmed a FALSE DETECTION by AVG/Grisoft

This will be fixed in their next update!

Here is the email I just received from them:

Oh yeah they fixed it OK. Removed extension, changed something else and it is now shown as a 16 bit .PIF file and won't work!!

I'm glad to hear that it's a false detection by AVG. I,too, got the Trojan Horse-Downloader Generic5.P10 from AVG. I scanned the download with a couple other anti spyware apps and the results were negative. It caused me a moment's panic as I've never had a trojan on my system.

Thanks for being on top of it.
Nell~
