Hi,

Please don't start multiple threads with your problem. I deleted the other thread you started. Also, because you bumped your post, it explains why you had to wait longer for help since we always look at the oldest posts and the posts with 0 replies.

Anyway, do next..

* Download Combofix to your desktop.
Doubleclick combofix.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.

When finished and after reboot (in case it asks to reboot), combofix will open again to gather the necessary information for the log. This may take a bit. When done, Combofix will close and a log should open, combofix.txt.
Post the contents of this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.
Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt - unless I ask you to.
AntispywareScanners---Antivirus Scanners---Firewalls---Online Scanners---Prevention---Help! My computer is slow!---My Blog---Follow me on Twitter.

Asking for help via Private Message or Mail will be ignored - So If you need help, post your problem in the forum.
DO NOT POST your problem or log in someone elses thread, even though you are having the same problems. This to avoid confusion. Start a new thread instead and someone will help you asap.
Bumping your thread won't help to receive help in a faster way, this since we always look at the posts with 0 replies first. If you bump your thread, we assume that someone is already helping you, so your thread may be ignored.

Hi,

I see you are running AdWatch.
I suggest you disable it because it can interfere with the fixes.

To disable AdWatch:

Open AdAware SE.
Go to AdWatch User Interface.
Go to Tools and Preferences.
At the bottom of the screen you will see 2 options Active and Automatic.
Active: This will turn Ad-Watch On\Off without closing it
Automatic: Suspicious activity will be blocked automatically
Uncheck both options. You can enable these after resolving your problem
Afterwards, when you enable Adwatch again and it displays some alerts (avp.exe, mgrs.exe...) ALLOW the changes and don't let Adwatch block it. This because next steps will remove these keys in the registry and Adwatch may see this as a "Hijack attempt" as well. If you tell adwatch to block them, then it will replace the entries we removed again.

Then, once Adwatch disabled,

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

File::
C:\Program Files\HP\nibyk83122.dll

Save this as ComboFix-Do.txt

Then drag the ComboFix-Do.txt into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.

This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThislog.

Hi,

I see I forgot to include the C:\Program Files\WildTangent folder in the script for deletion. So navigate to that folder and delete it manually.
The folder is called Wildtangent and is present in your C:\Program Files folder.

Also delete next folder: C:\Qoobox

Check and fix next orphaned entry in HijackThis:

R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)

The rest of your logs look clean again. Let me know in your next reply how things are now...

After restarting my computer the process avp.exe and mgrs.exe are getting added to the registry. Is not normal or should i worry about that

The files are gone... they are just orphaned entries.
They appear like this in your Combofix-log:

"avp"="C:\WINDOWS\avp.exe" []
"smgr"="mgrs.exe" []

The [] next to it means that Combofix couldn't find the files.
And they are not present, because if they were, then they should be running in your processes either and they would show in your Combofix log under the "Files Created" part as well. So really don't worry, those files are gone - what you see are just orphaned registry entries.

The reason why they are there again is because you enabled your adwatch again and adwatch "restored" them again, because it saw the deletion of it as a Hijack attempt and that's why it restored them again.

Ok, try next..

Open AdAware SE.
Go to AdWatch User Interface.
Go to Tools and Preferences.
At the bottom of the screen you will see 2 options Active and Automatic.
Uncheck Automatic

Then, check and fix next entries in Hijackthis:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [avp] C:\WINDOWS\avp.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [smgr] mgrs.exe

Normally your adwatch should give an alert. Allow the changes and don't let it block the changes.
However, it could be possible that it won't give an alert anyway and restore them anyway again.
So, if that happens and the entries appear once again in HijackThis, uninstall Adaware Pro/Plus, then reboot, then check and fix above entries once again in HijackThis and then reinstall Adaware again. Then it will accept the changes.

Hi miekiemoes,

I have unistalled the Ad Ware SE and fixed the issue with HiJackThis and installed Ad Ware SE and restarted the computer. I don't see them in the registry any more and HiJackThis also does not show these.

Thank you for your help, i really appreciate it.

Sorry for creating a new thread earlier, i did not find a way to change the Title/description and don't know the procedure how my questions will be answered in the forum.
